Gibbs Style Reflective Log - Nursing Clinical Reflection Example 3

Reflection of 3^rd week of Clinical

 

This is the continuation of the reflection of 2nd week of clinical. This is also an example of nursing clinical reflection which is being written in Gibbs' style. This can be used for the research reflective log or you may use it for other reflection also.

Description:

Today was our 3^rd week of clinical in neurosurgical ward in HMC. We met with the head nurse of the ward and our preceptor there. The head nurse assigned work to every of us. I was assigned to do medication round with other nurses. So, I did it and then I learnt about preoperative check list of the patient for nurses. After the round and the learning about the preoperative check list, we met with the preceptor and discussed about our topic with him. He said that the topic is very good and asked some questions about the topic from us.

 

Feelings:

As we had discussed our selected topic with our facilitator, but not with the preceptor yet, we thought that he might not accept the topic or will suggest another topic. But when we tell him about our topic, he said that it is a good topic and you should start work on them,

 

Evaluation:

The good thing was that our preceptor easily accepted our selected topic and was willing to helped us in that.

 

 

Analysis:

Our preceptor had a lot of command in his Nursing. Because at first when we introduce the 50 topics to him, he also described these all to us shortly having a lot of knowledge about that, and when we introduced the new topic to him, he asked many questions from us related to that and was looking that he had a vast knowledge.

 

Conclusion:

We had approved our new research topic both from our facilitator and also from our clinical preceptor. Both are agreed to conduct research on that.

 

Action Plan:

Next we will Download articles and study that and will be working on further on our research topic InshAllah.
